What’s the difference between a Den and a Pack?
● A Den is a small group of boys or girls the same grade in school who meet regularly to work on advancement skills
● A Pack is made up of the Cub Scouts from all of the Dens. The Pack meets once a month.
● Each Pack is identified by a number (ours is 868).
What happens at a Den Meeting?
● A Den Meeting has fun and educational games and activities to help the Cub Scouts achieve their rank by earning belt loops/pins.
● Den Leaders use the Scout Handbooks (based on rank) to help prepare and plan for den meetings.
What happens at a Pack Meeting?
● A Pack Meeting brings all Dens together for recognizing the achievements of the Cub Scouts, communicating information about upcoming events, and providing a program that enriches the Cub Scouting experience.
● Every Pack meeting has a special event/theme. Some examples include the Pinewood Derby (January), the Blue & Gold Ceremony (February), Raingutter Regatta (April), Scouting for Food (November), and the Pack’s legendary Holiday Potluck / Sockball Fight!
● The Pack also plans and coordinates camping trips open to the Scouts and their families.
Can I become and volunteer and how?
Are Cub Scouts the same as Scouts BSA (Boy Scouts)?
● Cub Scouts is for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade
● Scouts BSA is for boys and girls in 6th grade through age 18
